Job Title: Public Area Attendant

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Public Area Attendant to maintain the lobby and public space areas of our hotel in a clean and orderly condition. As a Public Area Attendant, you will be responsible for dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures, and window frames, as well as vacuuming upholstery, drapery, and carpeting. You will also clean and shine all glass and metal surfaces, empty ash urns, and remove trash to the dumpster. Additionally, you will clean public restrooms and stock them with supplies, and fulfill guest requests and handle guest problems/complaints as they may arise. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain lobby and public space areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and window frames
  • Vacuum upholstery, drapery, and carpeting
  • Clean and shine all glass and metal surfaces
  • Empty ash urns and remove trash to the dumpster
  • Clean public restrooms and stock them with supplies
  • Fulfill guest requests and handle guest problems/complaints
  • Report any missing articles, damage, or mechanical problems to the Supervisor
  • Turn in all articles left in guest rooms to the Supervisor to log in Lost and Found
  • Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • No formal experience required for the position
  • Constantly pushing loaded supply cart from room to room, carrying tote tray with replacement amenities from department to assigned floor, arranging drapery and replacement linen, carrying dirty linen to laundry chute, operating vacuum
  • Communicate information, respond to questions, and provide directions and hotel services to guests, vendors, staff members, and management
