Job Overview

The Imaging Services Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting various sub-departments within the Imaging Services Department, focusing on clinical patient care, patient transport, and coordination support.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Welcome patients and provide necessary pre-procedural documentation.
  2. Accompany patients to designated areas as required.
  3. Conduct safety screenings for patients prior to MRI Technologist evaluations.
  4. Administer oral contrast to CT patients as prepared by the Technologist.
  5. Assist with lifting and transferring patients onto and off of modality tables.
  6. Change linens and sanitize rooms between patient visits.
  7. Restock supplies and manage the disposal of soiled linens.
  8. Create CDs and aid patients in completing authorization forms.
  9. Keep patients informed about any delays in their procedures.
  10. Handle phone inquiries while the Technologist is engaged with a patient.
  11. Coordinate scheduling for Same Day Add-on patient examinations.
  12. Guide patients in preparing for imaging by removing any jewelry, clothing, or metal items that may interfere.
  13. Communicate with the Emergency Room/Urgent Care regarding patient transport readiness.
  14. Verify lab results and ensure IV access is prepared.
  15. Deliver items to various departments including clinics, labs, and the Emergency Room.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a clinical care environment within a healthcare facility.
  • Certification as a CNA or MA.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to fulfill and maintain necessary background checks relevant to job responsibilities.
  • Proficient communication skills in English for effective written and verbal interactions necessary for the role.
