About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Wayfair. As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems, including conveyor systems, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
  • Assist in the design, layout, and reconfiguration of existing systems as necessary.
  • Utilize CMMS system to create and maintain the work schedule and workflow.
  • Work regularly on aerial platform lifts, boom/snorkel lift, and powered industrial trucks (reach, order picker, stand up, pallet runners, stock chaser, etc.).
  • Mentor team members by motivating, providing guidance, and direct feedback to help them achieve their goals and improve individual performance.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible for keeping and maintaining tools, supplies, and a clean, organized work area.
  • Will perform emergency repairs in high-pressure circumstances.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or combined certification(s).
  • Proficient reading and comprehending electrical schematics and using associated tools such as volt/ohm meter, etc. (120,240,480VAC, 24VDC).
  • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders.
  • Proficient using hand and power tools and electrical testing equipment including PLC systems.
  • Experienced safely using warehouse equipment such as order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and aerial lifts.
  • Proficient using computer systems and CMMS software.
  • Will be required to wear applicable personal protective equipment including arc flash protection and safety shoes.
  • Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl, and reach, engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists, and stand and walk for long periods.
  • Must be comfortable repeatedly lifting up to 75 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building by climbing ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that can be noisy and have low lighting levels.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and take directions.
  • Must be a safety-conscious, motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Must be flexible on working hours and willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
