We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team at a large-scale food equipment manufacturer. As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining food processing and packaging machines, mechanical/utility equipment in a USDA production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Set-up, troubleshoot, and repair of stacking, bagging, check-weighing, UPC bar coding, case erectors, and conveyor equipment.
    • Dismantling and re-assembly of equipment to perform repairs, cleaning, and lubrication according to established maintenance schedules.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting
    • Testing, troubleshooting, and repair of 110/230/460V electrical equipment, including motors, starters, relays, timers, panels, breakers, conduit, and wiring.
    • Troubleshooting equipment and systems, such as HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, general electrical, including VFDs.
  • Programming and Troubleshooting
    • Minor programming and troubleshooting of VFDs and PLCs.
    • Knowledge of PLC programming on multiple platforms, including RS Logix and Factory Talk View programming.
  • Fabrication and Modification
    • Fabricating parts and modifying equipment as required.
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Responsible for upholding, following, and maintaining the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience in a food (USDA or FDA) manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with production and packaging machines working on mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Experience working on automated machinery.
  • 3+ years of troubleshooting high-speed machines.
  • Multiple years of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Food production experience a plus.

Locations

Illinois (Carol Stream), Wisconsin (Milwaukee, Monroe, Monticello), and Chillicothe, OH. Various shifts and schedules available.
