Brice Engineering LLC is seeking a highly skilled Geologist II to join our team in Anchorage, AK and Portland, ME. As a Geologist II, you will play a critical role in collecting, synthesizing, and documenting data from investigated areas, assisting in the preparation of project documentation, and providing field support as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct and oversee site inspections, assessments, investigations, and cleanups in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
- Work with environmental technicians and other technical staff in data collection, site inspection/investigation, and evaluation of data collected in support of environmental project objectives.
- Prepare technical evaluations of investigated sites.
- Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff preparing written project documentation.
- Review and document the processes necessary to obtain, develop and/or update environmental permits, plans, reports, licenses, and other requirements necessary to achieve environmental compliance and restoration project objectives.
- Review and provide documentation of environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations to ensure proposals meet all appropriate requirements.
- Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
- Determine data collection methods to be employed in site surveys and investigations.
- Actively participate in creating a positive team environment.
- Support project planning and RFP responses.
- Solve challenges for clients.
- Manage company resources to ensure proper deliverables.
- Supports junior staff.
- Actively participate in a proactive safety culture.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Bachelor's degree in geology, physical or environmental science, or environmental engineering.
- Two to ten years of experience working on environmental projects.
- A broad understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Valid state driver's license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Engineering's Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass drug and background screening.
- Geologist- or Engineering-in-Training preferred.
- Experience in federal government projects highly desired.
- Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8-hour refresher preferred.
- Experience with Health and Safety functions a plus.
