Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to the division's manufacturing activities under the direction of the Manufacturing Program Manager.

This role will require regular interaction with customers and various company personnel, including those in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Contracts, Shipping and Receiving, to provide technical support throughout all phases of a product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical lead for developing quotes, including technical writing, reading, understanding and interpreting drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Liaison between customer, project management and the shop to support procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, and certification.
  • Develop and improve internal manufacturing processes to incorporate lessons learned, to support division quality goals, to improve efficiencies and reduce costs, and to support growth opportunities.
  • Support audits (internal, customer, and supplier), including resolution of audit findings.
  • Provide regular status reports to the various Project Teams for the multiple projects assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Structural or Manufacturing) from accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of two years practical experience in Engineering, work experience with the US Department of Defense projects is desirable but not required.
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office products required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
  • Strong technical writing skills are preferred.
  • Proficiency using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is preferred.
Working Conditions

This position is considered SHOP/INDOORS & OFFICE WORK, characterized as follows:

  • Primarily indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
  • When outdoors, humidity is frequently above 90%.
  • Noise is over 85 decibels.
  • Light is intense/glare.
  • Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
  • Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Includes exposure to contaminants.
  • Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.
  • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people.
  • Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions.
