Position Responsibilities

The Animal Care Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients in both the hospital and boarding facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing care, feeding, and medication to animals.
  • Maintaining cleanliness through regular cleaning and laundry duties.
  • Bathing, walking, and monitoring the behavior of dogs.
  • Restocking hospital supplies and assisting with post-operative care.
  • Supporting veterinarians and assistants during examinations and procedures.
  • Keeping accurate records of medications, dietary needs, and any behavioral changes.
  • Learning to clean and sterilize surgical instruments as needed.
Qualifications

  • Knowledge of effective cleaning and disinfecting techniques.
  • Understanding of proper animal restraint methods.
  • Ability to handle cleaning materials and equipment efficiently.
  • Physical capability to perform moderately heavy labor.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
