Your Role:
As a Veterinary Support Specialist, you will significantly impact the lives of pets by delivering comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your responsibilities will include assisting Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with treatments, laboratory tests, surgical procedures, and support services such as patient admissions and discharges.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician Assistant
- Strong work ethic and dedication

- Knowledge of animal husbandry

- Proficient in documentation and computer skills

Assisting Veterinary Technicians:
• Restraining animals for examinations
• Monitoring vital signs as directed
• Collecting samples as instructed
• Conducting laboratory tests under supervision
• Supporting Technicians during appointments
• Preparing animals for treatments
• Assisting with imaging procedures
• Walking and caring for animals
• Maintaining cleanliness of workstations
• Daily sanitation of equipment
Surgical Preparation:
• Assisting in the induction of patients for surgery
• Preparing surgical areas
- Organizing gowns
- Preparing gloves
- Arranging surgical caps
- Setting out masks
• Sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies
- Preparing surgery packs
- Cleaning surgical gowns
- Sanitizing dental tools
- Managing surgical linens
• Handling surgical laundry
- Washing and drying
- Folding and organizing
- Sterilizing items
• Restraining animals during treatments
• Assisting with procedures as directed
• Ensuring cleanliness of treatment areas post-procedure
Collaborating with Animal Care Staff:
• Assisting in animal management during busy periods
• Handling laundry tasks
• Cleaning cages as needed
• Managing check-ins for boarding animals
