Job Title: Certified Medication Aide

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Senior Lifestyle. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the self-administration of medications for the Assisted Living Department, adhering to Federal and State regulations, as well as Senior Lifestyle guidelines.
  • Count and verify narcotics with approved personnel, reporting any discrepancies to a supervisor.
  • Order medications and treatments from the pharmacy, ensuring timely delivery and accurate labeling.
  • Verify the accuracy of received medications, notifying the pharmacy and DH&W of any discrepancies.
  • Properly store medications, separating oral medications from lotions, ointments, and liquids.
  • Conduct weekly inspections to ensure expired medications are removed, and MARs are updated.
  • Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and eating.
  • Document resident information in the daily log, notifying supervisors of concerns.
  • Answer calls and assist residents with needs as assigned.
  • Perform daily cleaning of medicine carts and restock as needed.
  • Attend staff training and in-services to maintain knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree, or one to three months of related experience and/or training.
  • 1+ months of experience in Senior Living preferred.
  • Current Medication Technician certification, depending on state regulations.
  • Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisors, and respond to emergency situations.
