Focused HR Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the stability, performance, and security of critical IT infrastructure.

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a vital role in analyzing complex system behaviors, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless operations. Your expertise in network design, server management, and virtualization technologies will be instrumental in maintaining a robust and reliable IT environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of system performance, network behavior, and infrastructure issues, working closely with application teams and vendors to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 support for critical incidents, resolving complex technical challenges and ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with the application team and vendors on server migration and refresh activities, ensuring smooth transitions and data integrity.
  • Participate in disaster recovery exercises, backup and recovery procedures, change board meetings, and other relevant initiatives to ensure business continuity.
  • Work closely with IT Security, IT Management, application teams, and vendors to remediate vulnerabilities identified within the server infrastructure.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain network integration between environments, ensuring seamless communication and data flow.
  • Document network and server infrastructure configurations for future reference and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Promote best practices across network and server infrastructure, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze firewall requirements and submit change requests to vendors, ensuring appropriate security measures are in place.
  • Monitor servers for error events and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to streamline manual processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the application team on integration, operations, and monitoring across the infrastructure.
  • Participate in software deployments as needed, ensuring smooth and successful implementations.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting complex network and server issues.
  • Strong understanding of distributed networks and systems architecture.
  • Expertise in Windows Group Policy Objects, firewalls, network access troubleshooting, network design, server deployment and migration, and VPN configuration.
  • Experience managing corporate Active Directory environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware.
  • Knowledge of Azure Backup, Azure Policy, and Security Center.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux administration.
  • Ability to configure and secure mission-critical production servers.
  • Proven ability to handle critical production incidents effectively.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.
