About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Officer to join our Resource Development team at JDC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying, researching, cultivating, and soliciting individual, foundation, and corporate donors to support our fundraising strategy and long-term growth priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and research potential donors, including individual, foundation, and corporate prospects
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing donors to increase giving
  • Solicit major gifts from donors, with a focus on securing $10,000+ gifts
  • Develop and implement strategic donor engagement plans, including events, travel, and speaker tours
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication
  • Track and monitor donor interactions and activities, using data to inform fundraising strategies
Requirements
  • 7+ years of professional fundraising experience, with at least 5 years at the major gifts level
  • Prior experience successfully soliciting and closing $10K+ gifts
  • Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with major individual donors, particularly in the Jewish community
  • Strong relationship-building and people skills, with excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using donor management systems (e.g. Raiser's Edge, Salesforce)
  • Ability to travel domestically 4-5 times and overseas 1-2 times annually
