Role Summary

The Laundry Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring a hygienic environment within a healthcare facility. This role involves working independently or collaboratively to utilize equipment and methods for safe laundry handling, including sorting, washing, and applying appropriate chemical treatments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collecting soiled linens from various areas and distributing sanitized items.
  • Executing laundry tasks such as washing, drying, and folding linens, while adhering to established protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with infection control standards when managing contaminated items.
  • Safely storing and securing laundry supplies and equipment.

Physical demands of the position include extensive use of limbs and the ability to lift or move weights ranging from 30-50 lbs, as well as pushing or pulling heavier loads. The role requires being on one's feet for the majority of the shift and may involve exposure to noise from operational equipment.

Work hours may vary based on organizational needs, including potential overtime and shifts during weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Familiarity with computer systems and prior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is advantageous.

Depending on the specific location, a valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required.
