Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Marine Utility Operations Specialist in Alaska. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for various duties on board our tankers, including maintenance, upkeep, and assisting with cargo operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with engine room tasks under the direction of the First Assistant Engineer, including cleaning decks and ladder ways, replenishing materials, and organizing tools and stores.
- Participate in drills and emergencies, and assist with enforcing rules, regulations, and pollution prevention.
- Work in the deck department under the direction of the Chief Mate, performing sanitation duties, assisting with mooring lines, and participating in cargo operations.
- Be willing and able to work overtime, including 12-hour days with 4 hours of overtime.
Requirements
- Able to push/pull up to 200 pounds, lift/carry up to 100 pounds, and climb various ladders and stairs ranging from 5 to 200 feet in height.
- Physically attend to vessels, including confined space entry and environmental extremes.
- Work outside in harsh weather conditions and walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working on a crude oil tanker or product tanker.
- Currently hold the following endorsements on Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC): Able Seafarer-Engine, Rating Forming Part of an Engineering Watch (RFPEW), Qualified Member of the Engine Department QMED, and others.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits
- All ConocoPhillips employees earn paid leave on the basis of twenty-five (25) days paid leave for every thirty (30) days of sea service.
- Tour lengths range from 65-85 days with an average tour of seventy-five (75) days onboard and sixty (60) days of paid leave.
Note: This position requires a TWIC card (Transportation Workers Identification Card) to gain access to secure areas of Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) regulated facilities and vessels.
