AndHealth is dedicated to transforming access and outcomes for individuals facing complex chronic health issues, aiming to make exceptional specialty care available and affordable for everyone. We collaborate with health systems, community health centers, plans, and employers to eliminate barriers to care, ensuring equitable access for all.


We are seeking a Medical Director to spearhead our Provider team, which includes specialists and advanced practice providers. This role involves overseeing and enhancing the 'process of care' delivered by our providers within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Direct and oversee a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including specialists, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other clinical staff.
    • Play a pivotal role in the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new clinicians as we expand our team to support additional partners and patients.
    • Encourage a collaborative and high-performance culture within the care team.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Manage and continuously enhance the 'process of care' to improve patient outcomes, identify opportunities for improvement, and collaborate with other leaders to optimize provider tools and processes.
    • Ensure the effective use of P&T related tools and algorithms in patient care.
  • Quality Assurance and Outcomes Evaluation:
    • Monitor and assess patient outcomes to pinpoint areas for improvement at the patient level or recommend enhancements within our protocols.
    • Collaborate with the National Medical Director to devise and implement strategies for process and protocol enhancements.
    • Work alongside the care team to identify and address care gaps for patients, optimizing our processes and tracking progress.
  • Patient Engagement:
    • Provide direct patient care 10-20% of the time to maintain clinical expertise and understand frontline needs.
    • Ensure patient care aligns with the organization's protocols and standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless care delivery across all AndHealth Services, including comprehensive disease management and specialty care.
    • Coordinate with external partners to ensure our care processes align with expectations.
    • Represent the care team in meetings and planning sessions.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with an active and unrestricted license.
  • A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • A proven track record of prioritizing patient needs in decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in managing and leading healthcare teams.
  • A systems thinker with a strong grasp of care processes, quality improvement, and patient outcomes monitoring.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to team development and employee growth.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders while maintaining a fast pace in implementing and driving process changes.

Additional Skills or Qualifications:

  • Experience with Community Health Centers and in a managed care environment is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months.
  • Documentation of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella immunity or a blood titer.
  • Documentation of Varicella immunity or two documented doses.
  • Completion of Hepatitis B series.
  • Influenza vaccination required.
  • COVID vaccination required.
  • Additional health requirements may also be necessary.
