Your RoleWe are seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. In this role, you will:
- Design and uphold a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols.
- Encourage a positive workplace culture, motivating employees to excel.
- Lead and mentor warehouse staff to achieve departmental KPIs.
- Oversee daily warehouse functions to meet the needs of retail operations while adhering to budget constraints.
- Communicate effectively with team members and ensure accountability.
- Stay updated on regulations and company policies affecting operations.
- Collaborate with Warehouse Supervisors and other personnel to optimize operations.
- Assess equipment and staffing needs for daily activities.
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards.
- Recruit and develop warehouse personnel to reach their full potential.
- Assist in capital projects and budget planning.
- Coordinate transportation logistics within the distribution center.
- Build strong relationships with retail partners and distribution teams.
- Manage the financial performance of the warehouse and transportation sectors.
- Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in a union environment is preferred.
- A 4-year degree in logistics or business is advantageous.
- Over 4 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or transportation setting.
- Familiarity with transportation software and routing optimization tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines from DOT, OSHA, and health departments.
- A proven history of enhancing productivity and reducing costs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems.
- Excellent analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- The ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce effectively.
- Strong communication skills to foster relationships with team members.
- Outstanding organizational skills and flexibility.
- A commitment to safety and accountability in the workplace.
- Experience in financial analysis and cost data evaluation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a focus on customer service.
