Job Summary

The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the administrative office at Tulane University Staff. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to department leadership and contributing to the overall success of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to department leadership, including record keeping, data entry, and scheduling.
  • Office Operations: Assist with the general operations of the administrative office, including ordering office supplies and maintaining a well-organized workspace.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform light clerical duties, such as copying, faxing, and filing, to support the administrative team.
  • Project Support: Assist with major projects related to the initiatives of the department, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is essential for this role.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with colleagues, leadership, and external partners is critical.
  • Education and Experience: A High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 year of administrative experience are required for this position.
  • Additional Requirements: Reception experience, proficiency with general office equipment, and the ability to perform at a high level in an open office environment are also essential.
