Position Overview:
The Senior Clinical Dietitian is responsible for utilizing advanced practice skills, education, and experience to provide clinical leadership. This role encompasses a designated clinical and patient care area, fostering collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Active involvement in Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Serving as a clinical nutrition authority in task forces, team meetings, and daily rounds.
- Conducting educational sessions for clinical dietitians, interdisciplinary teams, dietetic interns, and nutrition assistants.
- Facilitating ongoing training and competency assessments for self and new hires.
- Managing multiple tasks effectively while prioritizing patient care through critical thinking.
- Providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Services to identify patients at nutritional risk across all service areas.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in healthcare with a focus on clinical dietetics; 3-5 years preferred, demonstrating proficiency in the Nutritional Care Process.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics is required; a Master's Degree in Dietetics or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications: Must hold current Registered Dietitian (RD) and Licensed Dietitian (LD) status, with credentialing and NPI completed within six months of hire.
- Skills: Proficient in basic computer and office software, with advanced presentation and communication skills.
