Position Overview:

The Senior Clinical Dietitian is responsible for utilizing advanced practice skills, education, and experience to provide clinical leadership and oversight in designated patient care areas. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure adherence to operational standards and evidence-based practices that meet regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Active participation in Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Serving as a clinical nutrition authority in task forces, team meetings, and daily rounds.
  • Conducting educational sessions for clinical dietitians, interdisciplinary teams, dietetic interns, and nutrition assistants.
  • Managing ongoing training and competency assessments for self and new team members.
  • Identifying patients at nutritional risk and delivering Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) Services across various patient units.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in healthcare with a focus on clinical dietetics; 3-5 years preferred, demonstrating strong proficiency in the Nutritional Care Process.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics is required; a Master's Degree and Board Certification in a specialty area are preferred.
  • Certifications: Must maintain current Registered Dietitian (RD) and Licensed Dietitian (LD) status, with credentialing and NPI completed within six months of hire.
  • Skills: Proficient in basic computer applications and office equipment; advanced presentation skills; effective communication abilities with patients and colleagues; strong interest in professional growth within the interdisciplinary healthcare team; and exceptional critical thinking capabilities.
