Job Title: Clinical Educator Nursing - Adult Oncology

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Adult Oncology team as a Clinical Educator. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with regular office hours and some flexibility as needed.

About the Role:

The Clinical Educator of Nursing will utilize system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals. This role will integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members. The successful candidate will prepare annual self-development plans, set professional goals, and seek opportunities for achieving them. Additionally, they will contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement educational programs for new and experienced nursing staff
  • Assess and evaluate the competency of new nursing staff members
  • Integrate theoretical knowledge and evidence-based principles into educational experiences
  • Prepare annual self-development plans and set professional goals
  • Contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Education, or a relevant field
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in Nursing/Clinical Specialty and in Nursing/Clinical Education
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Specialty certification in an area related to the unit's clinical scope within one year of hire
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
