Classification: Hourly non-exempt

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation Range: $21 to $24 USD per hour

Work Schedule: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Composite Structures Supervisor

Work Location: 100% onsite

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and understand written and verbal directives, detailed schematics, and related documents, while performing basic mathematical computations.
  • Utilize hand tools such as routers, drills, and sanders to cut and shape composite components to precise specifications.
  • Execute structural bonding and fastening of composite assemblies, ensuring proper surface preparation for adhesion.
  • Timely and professionally complete work orders.
  • Maintain organized and clean workspaces, ensuring secure storage of tools and materials.
  • Conduct inspections to uphold the highest quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and industry standards.
  • Read and comprehend shop travelers.
  • Support organizational health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional operations as needed.
The responsibilities listed above are intended to convey the general nature and level of work expected from individuals in this role. Management retains the right to modify, add, or remove duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in composite materials.
  • Effective communication skills in both oral and written English.
  • Experience in structural bonding and fastening of composite materials, including surface preparation.
  • Familiarity with hand lay-up techniques for prepreg materials (Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, Phenolic, honeycomb core, and Rohacell foam).
  • Experience with laser projection technology.
  • Ability to work in controlled environments with appropriate safety gear.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Highly organized and self-driven.
  • Knowledge of site preparation and maintenance of cleanliness.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
  • Willingness to learn cross-functional tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with autoclave operations is preferred.
Work Authorization:
  • Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination, including drug and alcohol testing.
