Classification: Hourly non-exempt
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation Range: $21 to $24 USD per hour
Work Schedule: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Composite Structures Supervisor
Work Location: 100% onsite
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and understand written and verbal directives, detailed schematics, and related documents, while performing basic mathematical computations.
- Utilize hand tools such as routers, drills, and sanders to cut and shape composite components to precise specifications.
- Execute structural bonding and fastening of composite assemblies, ensuring proper surface preparation for adhesion.
- Timely and professionally complete work orders.
- Maintain organized and clean workspaces, ensuring secure storage of tools and materials.
- Conduct inspections to uphold the highest quality standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and industry standards.
- Read and comprehend shop travelers.
- Support organizational health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional operations as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in composite materials.
- Effective communication skills in both oral and written English.
- Experience in structural bonding and fastening of composite materials, including surface preparation.
- Familiarity with hand lay-up techniques for prepreg materials (Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, Phenolic, honeycomb core, and Rohacell foam).
- Experience with laser projection technology.
- Ability to work in controlled environments with appropriate safety gear.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
- Highly organized and self-driven.
- Knowledge of site preparation and maintenance of cleanliness.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
- Willingness to learn cross-functional tasks.
- Experience with autoclave operations is preferred.
- Must be a US Citizen or authorized to work in the US.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a physical examination, including drug and alcohol testing.
