Job Summary

Webber, LLC is seeking a skilled Bridge Electrician - Infrastructure Management Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and participating in the electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs of movable bridges, including roadway and navigational lighting and fender systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in electrical maintenance and repair of movable bridges and roadway lighting.
  • Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical circuits, switches, relays, resistors, contactors, lighting, motors, generators, surge arrestors, breakers, fuses, PCL, control circuits, drives, and related mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair bridge malfunctions.
  • Perform routine bridge maintenance, including cleaning contacts, lamp replacement, limit switch adjustment/replacement, and ensuring the bridge electrical systems are organized and functioning properly.
  • Perform routine maintenance and service air conditioning units.
  • Conduct monthly amperage and megger ohm readings on electrical motors.
  • Maintain bridge street, navigational, traffic signal, and advanced warning lighting.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance of bridge components to ensure continuous bridge operations.
  • Maintain span locks and traffic gates.
  • Complete monthly maintenance logs and reports.
  • Assist professional engineers in their annual inspection of the movable bridge electrical and mechanical systems.
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman electrician license required.
  • Experience reading movable bridge electrical plans/blueprints/schematic drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of structures maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Work Environment

The employee will be regularly required to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders on a regular basis. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee will be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee will be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be able to work in tight spaces. Must be comfortable working in and around water and from boats. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate to the job.
