Job Summary

Larson Design Group, a leading Architecture, Engineering, and Consulting Firm, is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Project Manager to lead our bridge design projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing clients and projects, including design, communications, personnel management, budgets, schedules, quality control, business development, and client communication & relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation & modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Client Management: Manage clients/bridge projects specific to local municipalities, PennDOT, PA DCNR, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), and more.
  • Revenue Management: Manage services up to $1M in revenue, the Senior Project Manager manages services over $1M in revenue.
  • Proposal Development: Creates and tracks client proposals including writing scope, technical & price proposals, statements of interests, amendments, developing budgets & schedules, and identifying potential issues.
  • Workload Forecasting: Prepares workload forecasting reports.
  • Compliance: Ensures compliance with all environmental, survey, and other rules, regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Codes and Standards: Possesses knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to design of projects.
  • Proposal Preparation: Prepares technical and price proposals, statements of interests, amendments, and schedules.
  • Quality Assurance: Promotes, utilizes, and supports quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions.
  • Contract Management: Prepares, reviews, and coordinates contract agreements for projects. Signs contract agreement within the allotted parameters provided.
  • Business Development: Identifies new markets, develops leads & opportunities, performs business development activities, and pursues new geographies.
  • Team Management: Coaches, mentors, and motivates project team members and sub-consultants.
  • Project Risk Management: Manages project risk in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years' job-related experience, a minimum of fifteen (15) years experience for Sr. Project Manager.
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) or other professional licensure in field of expertise strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software Skills: Knowledge of Microstation, Open Roads Designer, Open Bridge Designer, and ASTA is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Must possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a Project Team, possess strong leadership & interpersonal skills, and strong time management skills.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to interact professionally with clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other external sources in a professional manner.
  • Public Speaking: Must be proficient in public speaking, creating presentations, and delegation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with PennDOT, Local Municipalities, PA DCNR, PTC, and more.
