Your Opportunity
The Construction Services Engineer will serve as a technical leader, responsible for fostering relationships with Heavy Highway and Bridge Contractors. This role will coordinate overall design activities, project submission schedules, and ensure the final products meet technical requirements and client goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with Heavy Highway and Bridge Contractors.
- Prepare and review design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
- Coordinate project submissions and reviews submittals.
- Prepare and review specifications, draft letters, and technical reports.
- Conduct inspections and field work assignments as needed.
- Research, review, and interpret written regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements.
- Maintain project records and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with Codes and Standards applicable to project designs.
- Develop technically accurate and deliverable drawings.
- Promote and support quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Work within assigned budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited school or related field of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience in design for Heavy Highway or Bridge Construction services engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
- Desire to market LDG Contractor Engineering Services.
- Thorough knowledge of the design and development process, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, ASHTO Guide Design Specification for Bridge Temporary Works, and PennDOT Design Manual, Part 4 Specification.
- Understanding of bridge design, bridge construction plans, and specifications, including special provisions and project documents.
- Experience designing temporary excavation support and protection systems, temporary works formwork/falsework designs, and other related projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microstation, Shoring Suite, Enercalc, L-Pile, and PennDOT Bridge Design Software.
- Strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
