Key Responsibilities:- Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure full compliance to policies and guidelines, including GMP requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance and Replacement: Proactively identify equipment replacement needs and develop strategies to address them.
- Preventive and Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement changes to the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Programs to ensure full compliance.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare budgets for the Maintenance Engineering department and maintain costs within budgeted expenses.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with Quality, IT, Engineering, and Production Departments to develop and maintain alarm logging systems and trending requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including GMP and EHS regulations.
- Leadership and Training: Train, guide, and evaluate employees in the interpretation of company policies, goals, and objectives.
- Workforce Planning: Maintain an adequate workforce to support present needs and plan for departmental requirements in the future.
- Relationship Building: Promote good relationships within the department and with other departments within the company.
- Technical Coordination: Coordinate with all departments in technical matters dealing with plant infrastructure, instruments, and equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Maintain and troubleshoot key equipment to ensure continuous and smooth operation.
- Maintenance and Engineering Activities: Coordinate maintenance, engineering, and construction activities.
- Cost Control: Cost control of plant-related activities, contractors, and utilities.
- Equipment Calibration and Certification: Direct recurring calibration/certification of equipment and instruments.
- Advisory Role: Advise executive management and department managers about improvements, acquisition of buildings and equipment.
- Building Monitoring Systems: Coordinate and manage building monitor systems, providing system alarms and status through Ethernet solutions.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System: Manage/administrate the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
- Facility and Equipment Monitoring: Monitor all facility and production equipment and/or service as per compliance with in-house Standard Operating Procedures.
- Preventative Maintenance Program: Manage Preventative Maintenance (PM) program; includes schedules, and non-routine repairs.
- Equipment History Files: Maintain equipment history files to track maintenance, equipment manuals, and supporting documentation.
- Engineering Assessment and Estimates: Provide engineering assessment, user functional requirements, and estimates for equipment, utility, or facility upgrades.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in science or engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years relevant experience in facility and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and engineering.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with equipment and instrument qualification and calibration.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with peptides (preferred).
- Leadership and Management: Ability to manage and lead a team.
- Technical Writing: Proficiency with technical writing.
- cGMP Knowledge: Working knowledge of cGMPs as they relate to a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
- Problem-Solving: Detail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in reading schematics and diagrams as well as other written materials.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Time Management: Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
- Communication Style: Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues.
- Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and manage one's time, while also communicating effectively and functioning well in a team environment.
