Job Summary:

RTR Low Enriched Uranium Materials Process Engineer

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Materials Process Engineer to join our Nuclear Operations Group in Lynchburg, VA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support production operations as the technical lead and subject matter expert for development engineering with Silicide for Research Test Reactors (RTR).
  • Troubleshoot and analyze production and quality issues, identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Coordinate job order information for production/development activities.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with vendors to procure raw materials.
  • Respond to customer inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Engineering or Physics, plus seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • Background in metals/alloys and metal matrix composites preferred.
  • Demonstrable skills and knowledge of CAD software, preferably Solid Edge.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, able to work independently, results-oriented, and with a keen attention to detail.
  • Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • US Citizenship with no dual citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
