Electrical Preconstruction Support Role

At Guarantee Electrical Company, we are seeking a motivated Preconstruction Intern to support our award-winning team. This internship provides a rewarding experience with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities:

Project Integration Support:

Assist in rolling out project integration methods by collaborating with preconstruction and operations teams to ensure smooth communication and alignment.


Vendor and Subcontractor Relations:
Help build and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Support initiatives to implement labor-saving solutions that enhance installation efficiency.

Workforce Planning Assistance:
Aid in developing project-specific workforce projections and aligning milestones with client schedules. Help break down estimates into standardized Work Breakdown Schedules.

S tandardization and Prefabrication:
Participate in efforts to drive innovation and standardization in product selections and prefabrication assemblies. Work with the operations team on project-specific strategies.

Purchasing and Supplier Collaboration:
Support the implementation of purchasing software and assist in developing relationships with suppliers. Help strategize to reduce the number of purchase orders and back orders.

Integration Meetings and Logistics Coordination:
Assist in organizing meetings for larger material purchases, discussing installation processes and logistics.

Multi-Project Support:
Contribute to the development of synergies related to the procurement of equipment and materials across multiple projects.

Proposal and Bid Support:
Help gather proposals, blueprints, and specifications for project bids. Learn to analyze documents to identify labor, material, and time requirements.

Documentation Organization:

Aid in organizing electronic files, bid documents, drawings, and specifications for easy retrieval and ensure they are up to date.


Customer Data Management:
Assist in coordinating and managing customer data in Salesforce (CRM), ensuring accurate and accessible information for team members.

Qualifications:


Currently pursuing an Associate's Degree or enrolled in a Technical or Vocational program in construction, business development, or a related field.

Relevant coursework or experience in the Architectural, Engineering, or Construction field is a plus.
Basic understanding of value engineering concepts and familiarity with current electrical codes and building standards is beneficial.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or Accubid being advantageous.

Ability to translate technical information into clear and compelling content.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
