LabCorp is looking for a diligent and enthusiastic individual to become part of their Specimen Processing and Accessioning unit. The Specimen Processing Technician will play a crucial role in clinical specimen accessioning, sample organization, and data management within a dynamic, high-volume setting, adhering to established protocols.

Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 5am - 1:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Unpack and direct specimens to designated staging areas.
  • Accurately identify and label specimens.
  • Package and ship specimens to appropriate testing facilities.
  • Achieve departmental activity and production targets.
  • Properly prepare and store surplus specimen samples.
  • Conduct data entry of patient information accurately and promptly.
  • Identify and document any issues with specimens.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience required; 1-2 years preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical or production environment is advantageous.
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens.
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong data entry and organizational capabilities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must pass a standardized color vision test.
