The Merchandise Planner plays a pivotal role in driving sales, profit, and sell-through objectives for multiple departments in a given area. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement annual and seasonal planning processes, including assortment planning, inventory allocation, and sales forecasting for Theory's full-price retail and e-commerce businesses.
  • Create preseason sales, margin, and inventory plans by style and color to achieve company targets.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics in-season, providing regular performance analysis and actionable recommendations to drive business results.
  • Oversee the Allocation team, developing inventory strategies that align with the sales and profitability goals of each store.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Marketing, Production, Store Management, Operations, and Finance to align planning efforts with overall business goals.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities and risks, informing decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process efficiencies and standardization within the planning function to enhance productivity and accuracy.
  • Streamline reporting to allow for improved business analysis and identification of risks and opportunities.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in Merchandise Planning
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Merchandising, or a related field
  • High level of experience and proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Mathematical proficiency with strong business and financial acumen
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate across all levels of management
  • Strong sense of teamwork to coordinate with many cross-functional partners
  • High degree of accountability and attention to detail
  • Ability to flex across shifting priorities
  • Strong sense of urgency and accuracy
