Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with patients, their families, and healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment strategies, ensuring the achievement of nursing department goals. Your role is vital to the interdependent team, focusing on positive patient and departmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
  • Manage the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for examinations, and general nursing care.
  • Maintain and review patient records, ensuring accuracy in posting tests and results.
  • Administer medications as per physician directives.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
  • Handle incoming calls, including potential phone triage.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is mandatory.
