Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment strategies, ensuring the objectives of the nursing department are met. You will play a vital role within the interdependent team, responsible for achieving favorable patient and departmental outcomes.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining overall accountability for assigned patients.
  • Managing the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, exam preparation, general nursing care, and coordinating admissions, testing, and discharges.
  • Maintaining and reviewing patient records, including documenting tests and examination results.
  • Administering medications according to physician directives.
  • Educating patients and families on medications and treatment plans.
  • Responding to and directing incoming phone inquiries, including phone triage as necessary.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is mandatory.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross is required.
