Key Responsibilities and QualificationsIn partnership with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, the Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating treatment plans to meet nursing department objectives. This role is essential to the interdependent healthcare team, focusing on achieving favorable patient and departmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assume overall responsibility for assigned patients.
· Ensure efficient patient care flow, including screening, exam preparation, and general nursing care.
· Maintain and update patient records, including test results.
· Administer medications as per physician directives.
· Educate patients and families on medications and treatment plans.
· Handle incoming calls and perform phone triage as necessary.
Qualifications:
· Must possess a degree from an accredited nursing program: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
· Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the practicing state or an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
