Role OverviewThis role is situated within the Data Science & AI Solutions team at HP, focusing on the development and incubation of groundbreaking products and services that leverage AI.
As a Product Manager, you will be tasked with crafting the vision, roadmap, and specifications for these products, swiftly validating or invalidating the commercial potential of new ideas through the creation of initial prototypes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in AI tools and processes, possess a mix of tactical and strategic skills, and have an entrepreneurial spirit that enables the identification of new market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Stay informed about industry trends and customer requirements related to AI.
- Establish an incubation process to efficiently intake, develop, and evaluate various product concepts from ideation to prototyping.
- Articulate a clear product vision for each concept, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.
- Exhibit strong business insight to quickly assess and validate potential product viability in the fast-evolving AI landscape.
- Lead the ideation, definition, and development of innovative concepts that utilize AI to address complex challenges and fulfill customer needs.
- Communicate feature prioritization, timelines, and acceptance criteria to agile engineering teams, emphasizing rapid prototyping and validation.
- Collaborate with product design to swiftly create wireframes and prototypes for testing and validation with potential customers.
- Assist product marketing in developing and testing initial concept positioning and messaging.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators and success metrics to evaluate the desirability of various product concepts and guide future ideation.
- Regularly present to senior leadership on the status of incubation products, providing recommendations for advancement, pivoting, or discontinuation of concepts.
- For products that successfully transition from incubation, support the handover to the commercialization team.
We are looking for an experienced product manager or ex-founder with a proven track record in new product development within startup environments.
The candidate must possess a founder's mentality, with the ability to develop, communicate, and execute a clear product vision.
Required qualifications include:
- Over 10 years of experience in software product management, particularly in Data Science or AI Technologies (portfolio required).
- Prior experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, LLMs, or Generative AI solutions.
- Proficiency in R, Python, and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven decision-making approach.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and convey ideas at the executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Prior experience with agile development methodologies and project management processes.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or related fields is required. An MBA and/or advanced degrees in AI-related fields are highly preferred.
