About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR) group, you will play a critical role in ensuring a sustainable future for our communities and the world we live in.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and project management services to our clients on a variety of projects, including remediation and restoration initiatives.
  • Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, and technical reports, including cost estimates and budgets.
  • Compile, reduce, interpret, and evaluate data to ensure compliance with environmental regulatory standards.
  • Interact with internal and external clients, contractors, and service providers to deliver high-quality results.
  • Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern, following established procedures.
  • Participate in a proactive safety culture of continuous improvement and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and develop effective strategies to meet their objectives.
  • Balance the triangle of Scope, Schedule, and Budget to produce the best results possible for our clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Applied Science (Engineering, Geology, or Science).
  • 5-10 years' experience in environmental remediation, including a mix of field, data evaluation, and interpretation, and technical report writing.
  • Professional Designation/License (Engineer, Geologist, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, and closure.
  • Understanding of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing various contaminants, including VOCs, SVOCs, metals, and PFAS.
  • Working knowledge of the design and operation of remediation systems.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in a consulting environment.
  • Working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis, and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air, and groundwater.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify multiple solutions to a problem.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to work in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in continuing professional development.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification.
