The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified PhD or MD/PhD researcher to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery. As a research faculty member, you will be responsible for developing and conducting research studies, securing extramural funding, and publishing research in top-tier scientific journals.
Key Responsibilities- Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies
- Develop and write grant proposals to secure extramural funding
- Obtain and maintain NIH R01 or equivalent funding
- Write and publish research in high-quality peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Attend and present research at national and international scientific conferences
- Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees
- PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field
- Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01)
- Academic experience a plus
