Job Description:
Tesla is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and implementation of Mechanical Joining and Bonding processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and installing new manufacturing lines for Body and GA.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of joining and adhesive bonding mechanisms, processes, and equipment. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that new lines are integrated with other processes and meet Tesla's objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Vehicle Joining Engineering, Process Engineering, and Structures Design Engineering to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) in new programs.
  • Develop and implement mechanical joining and adhesive bonding processes for high-volume production lines.
  • Stabilize joining processes in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Lead quality control efforts, including the development of quality control plans and PFMEA.
  • Plan and execute DoEs to optimize process boundaries for mechanical joining manufacturability and quality.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of related experience developing and launching joining processes in automotive industries.
  • In-depth understanding of joining and adhesive bonding mechanisms, processes, and equipment.
  • Able to function independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
