Medstar Health is searching for an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Ambulatory Practice Manager. This role will be part of our team at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, and the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work in a high-pressure environment.

The Ambulatory Practice Manager will oversee the daily operational activities of one or more ambulatory practices, ensuring seamless patient scheduling and registration, accurate billing and insurance authorizations, and implementation of Medstar policies and procedures through direct supervision of subordinate staff.

This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, implementing policies, and managing programs to achieve departmental goals. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, with 3-4 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience in hospital administration or a large business operation.

This position requires a strong understanding of fiscal management, including budgeting, variance analysis, and productivity measures. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage day-to-day operations of the physician practice location(s).
  2. Implement policies and procedures of physician practice management and operations in collaboration with physician and nursing leadership.
  3. Develop, implement, and sustain leading practice models for ambulatory practice management.
  4. Ensure accurate productivity measures for monitoring the departments' activities.
  5. Responsible for fiscal and budget management, including billing processes, charge entry, and reconciliation.
  6. Participate in departmental and hospital committees as appointed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Health Services Administration, or a directly related field.
  • 3-4 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience in hospital administration or a large business operation.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to manage fiscal budgets, including variance analysis and productivity measures.

Benefits:
