AutoNation Sales Manager Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Develop the Sales Team: Select, train, coach, and develop top-performing Sales Associates to drive exceptional customer experiences.
  • Drive Sales Performance: Set clear goals and expectations for the sales team to achieve targeted unit sales and profit margins.
  • Manage Customer Traffic: Oversee the negotiation process, manage customer interactions, and ensure a seamless experience across the showroom, e-commerce, and phone channels.
  • Inventory Management: Partner with the General Manager and/or General Sales Manager to plan and manage new and used vehicle inventory.
  • Business Analysis: Analyze sales data to identify shortfalls and develop action plans to improve performance.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven success in auto retail sales and leadership ability to mentor and train others.
  • Skills: Ability to set and achieve targeted goals, drive exceptional customer experiences, and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.

AutoNation offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary and commission-based incentives. The average compensation for this role is $15,000-$25,000 per month.
