Compensation:
Salary will be determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement, along with the applicant's education, experience, skills, and internal equity aligned with market data.


Estimated Hourly Pay:
$24.85 (minimum) - $38.61 (maximum) plus applicable shift differentials and overtime.

Role Overview
If you are a Mechanical Assembly Technician, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This position reports to the manufacturing supervisor and involves assembling, installing, aligning, adjusting, and fitting subassemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using the appropriate tools and equipment.

The role operates under moderate supervision with limited interaction with external suppliers or customers.

What You Will Be Doing
Essential Functions:
- Assemble and/or conduct preset calibration and final testing.
- Perform low to moderately complex assembly and testing tasks, which may include small products, light subassemblies, and complete units of smaller sizes.
- Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to assemble, install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies and parts according to work instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness of parts and ensure proper maintenance of tooling and equipment as per work instructions.
- Follow assembly work instructions to achieve certification for tasks performed.
- Work with close tolerances and fits to meet engineering and operational specifications.
- Manage inventory by picking and stocking parts from designated areas and placing completed parts appropriately.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, including test record reports and standard quality checks.


Other Functions:
- Adhere to all housekeeping protocols, including 6S procedures and maintaining a clean workspace.
- Complete test record reports and standard quality checks during testing.
- May assist in disassembling and handling returned units under supervision.
- Conduct assembly audits after certification.
- Perform flow and/or pressure testing of assembly components as required.
- Conduct preset calibration and final testing of products as directed.
- Foster teamwork within the organization.
- Sort parts for repair units for reuse with defined checking gauges.
- Perform final assembly of units after testing completion and record relevant data as necessary.

Qualifications
Hand Tools:
- Proficient in using a variety of basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, scrapers, box cutters).
- Knowledgeable in inspection techniques and able to use inspection tools effectively.
- Capable of reading and utilizing inspection tools relevant to specific tasks and facilities.

Torque Wrench Use:
- Skilled in using torque wrenches to adjust or install parts and equipment according to established specifications.
- Understands the impact of quality on organizational success, including customer costs and potential recalls.
- Committed to ensuring consistent quality and striving for continuous improvement.
- Able to recognize minute inconsistencies in parts, equipment, or production processes to prevent defects.
- Proficient in using computer systems for information management.
- Capable of effectively communicating information to coworkers and supervisors.
- General knowledge of machine functionality and the use of tools on such equipment.
- Demonstrates eagerness and optimism towards work activities and takes ownership of responsibilities.
- Able to accurately complete forms, reports, and logs.
- Proficient in problem identification and resolution.
- Provides excellent service to internal customers and collaborates effectively with team members.
- Capable of performing basic arithmetic operations accurately.
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and follow work orders efficiently.
- Possesses strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Mechanical aptitude is essential.

This position is part of an IAM Bargained Group and requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must meet the criteria defined by ITAR and EAR.
