Job Title: Area Supervisor - Store Operations

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Supervisor to join our Store Operations team at Ross Dress for Less. As an Area Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific area of the store, including supervising associates, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment: Ensure the safety and security of customers and associates by maintaining a clean and organized store environment, reporting any hazards or incidents, and adhering to company safety policies.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Store Operations: Supervise associates, manage inventory, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Loss Prevention: Identify and prevent shoplifting and other forms of theft by monitoring the sales floor and stockroom, and reporting any suspicious activity to management.
  • Front End Supervision: Supervise the front end of the store, including the cash registers, and ensure that all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Fitting Rooms: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the fitting rooms, and ensure that all garments are properly tagged and accounted for.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks, such as payroll administration, cash handling, and inventory management.

Requirements:

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to effectively communicate with associates, customers, and management.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and supervise associates, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Possess attention to detail, and be able to accurately complete tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Ability to Lift and Move Heavy Objects: Be able to lift and move heavy objects, including merchandise and equipment.

Working Conditions:

The Area Supervisor will work in a fast-paced retail environment, and will be required to stand for long periods of time, lift and move heavy objects, and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least 2 years of experience in a retail or supervisory role. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
