Mooresville, North Carolina, United States Lowe's Full time

Are you intrigued by the principles of Agile Internal Audit? At Lowe's Internal Audit department, we utilize an agile auditing approach to address the most pressing needs of our business partners.

Our team delivers timely insights that facilitate decision-making, concentrating on what truly matters for the organization while minimizing time spent on audit cycles and documentation.

While assessing financial controls is fundamental, at Lowe's, you will serve as a valuable advisor to the business. Transition from the background to a pivotal role within our audit team.

The Senior Internal Audit Lead is tasked with spearheading agile audits that assess the established internal controls aimed at managing the Company's most critical risks, encompassing both operational and financial threats.

This role will assist the Audit Manager in strategizing individual audits, formulating test procedures to assess controls, and collecting/analyzing data as needed to determine the effectiveness and sufficiency of the controls.

The Senior Internal Audit Lead will also interpret test outcomes and communicate audit findings to the client through both oral and written reports.

In this capacity, the Senior Internal Audit Lead will oversee the daily operations of the project, ensuring that other Senior and Staff Auditors receive appropriate guidance to complete their work efficiently and with high quality.

This position also involves mentoring less experienced auditors in audit methodologies and actively engaging in departmental non-project initiatives.

Job Overview:

The primary aim of this position is to conduct audits that assess the effectiveness of established internal controls designed to mitigate Lowe's most significant risks.

This role will support the Audit Manager in planning audits, creating audit testing steps, and gathering and analyzing necessary information to evaluate control adequacy.

This position serves as the daily leader of projects, responsible for interpreting test results and finalizing communications and deliverables for audit engagements.

Additionally, this role entails delivering oral or written reports and communications to clients while assisting in the training and supervision of less experienced auditors.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the daily auditing activities for larger and more intricate audit projects to ensure compliance with Lowe's methodology and timely achievement of milestones and key deadlines.

Implements the preliminary audit plan, which includes reviewing and approving documentation processes through process maps, flowcharts, and work paper standards.

Ensures that in-scope risks and controls are identified during the project risk assessment in the planning phase and that they are thoroughly evaluated and tested by Senior and Staff Auditors.

Identifies essential control points within processes/activities and develops audit test steps aimed at assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.

Composes and reviews formal audit reports to meet the quality standards required for a Director and Vice President audience.

Exhibits effective project management by discussing project expectations with the team, maintaining consistent communication throughout the audit engagement, and identifying development opportunities for staff auditors.

Recommends performance coaching opportunities for staff auditors.

Manages client relationships through open communication during the audit process, keeping clients informed of potential concerns and ensuring the Audit Manager is aware of project status or issues that require attention.
