Position Overview: Join our dedicated team at Danbury Hospital as an Invasive Cardiovascular Technician in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This full-time role involves a 38-hour work week with 10-hour shifts, including on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist medical personnel by utilizing sterile techniques during invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty.
- Monitor patients' hemodynamic status and ECG, ensuring accurate data entry into the monitoring system.
- Conduct pre-procedure interviews to gather medical histories and educate patients and families about the procedures.
- Prepare the catheterization lab and perform quality assurance checks on all necessary equipment.
- Position patients and connect monitoring devices, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Support cardiologists with arterial closure devices and manage sheath removal and hemostasis.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding technical equipment and instruments.
- Collect data for cardiac catheterization registries.
- Participate in inventory management, quality improvement initiatives, and patient transport.
- Fulfill on-call duties for emergency procedures, including diagnostic and interventional tasks.
- Adhere to the organization's standards for quality, service, teamwork, and community involvement.
- Complete all compliance responsibilities associated with the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure readings.
- Minimum of one year of experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures.
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
- Knowledge of permanent pacemaker and defibrillator implants.
