The Marketing Operations Manager will be instrumental in supporting our firm's ongoing growth through excellence in business development and marketing services.

We are looking for an individual with experience in the architecture, engineering, construction, or professional services sectors, particularly in leading proposal teams.

Our ideal candidate will be collaborative, capable of influencing and motivating others, and possess a comprehensive understanding of proposal and interview best practices.

The right individual will be an empathetic leader who fosters relationships through positivity and can secure successful outcomes.

The Marketing Operations Manager will collaborate with district marketing directors, marketing managers, business line management, and district management to align objectives and drive successful proposal, pursuit, and marketing initiatives across all business lines.

Additionally, this role will assist local teams in positioning for significant pursuits, including capture planning and pipeline development.


Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership and facilitation abilities, a commitment to excellence, a proactive approach, and a proven track record of submitting highly-rated proposals to various agencies.

We seek a dynamic professional with experience in overseeing, coordinating, and executing all aspects of proposal development, including strategy formulation, messaging, writing, layout, process management, graphics, and production.

Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, the ability to motivate proposal teams to adhere to schedules, collaboration with technical teams to brainstorm compelling messages and themes, and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support capture planning activities, including understanding selection panels, government relations strategies, competitive analysis, and innovative approaches.
  • Oversee the most complex proposals, collaborating with technical staff to write, review, and edit original content for clarity and compliance. Work with graphic designers to ensure all proposal materials effectively communicate the strategic vision for each pursuit.
  • Collaborate with individual pursuit teams to develop effective strategies, providing business intelligence on clients, competitors, and WSP.
  • Lead the development of presentations and interviews for shortlisted candidates.
  • Facilitate proposal debrief sessions for both successful and unsuccessful efforts.
  • Attend pre-proposal meetings, industry events, and relevant board meetings.
  • Ensure the quality of marketing deliverables and compliance with WSP procedures.
  • Identify and implement visibility plans and external communication opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of extensive experience in pursuit development within the A/E/C industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills with strong critical thinking, marketing strategy development, group facilitation, and team-building capabilities.
  • Possess a strategic mindset, sound judgment, and the ability to create and manage strategic capture plans.
  • Strong leadership skills to build trust and influence stakeholders at all management levels.
  • Experience leading large, diverse, and virtual proposal and interview teams.
  • Superior organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong personal initiative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation:
Expected Salary Range: $83,100 - $148,060


WSP is providing this compensation range based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and specific geographic location.

WSP reserves the right to adjust compensation and offer additional benefits based on circumstances unrelated to an applicant's protected status.
