Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Coordinator to join our team at the University of Kansas. As a Grant Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing post-award research administration services to principal investigators, units, and departments. This role requires a strong understanding of post-award best practices, grant systems, policies, and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and professional services to support the research service goals of client units and the University of Kansas.
  • Manage a dynamic and complex research award portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to principal investigators.
  • Work with sponsoring agencies to submit timely reports and documentation, and act as a liaison between the principal investigator and the agency.
  • Collaborate with the Award Management Services team, Office of Research teams, and other colleagues to support research administration across the University.
  • Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to improve and provide support services that enhance operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years related professional-level work experience, or a high school degree/GED plus a minimum of four years of related work experience.
  • Computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as evidenced by previous work history.
  • Excellent interactive and people skills, as evidenced by previous work history.
  • Excellent written communication skills, as demonstrated by application materials.
  • Prior work experience that required attention to detail, as demonstrated by application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of applicable federal, state, and other sponsor regulations related to sponsored projects, including OMB Uniform Guidance.
  • Experience working independently in a research administration environment.
  • Experience analyzing budgets and interpreting complex contracts, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience using a research administration ERP, e.g., PeopleSoft Grants.
