We are currently seeking a full-time International (Mandarin) Residential Life Coordinator to oversee our student dormitory operations in Derby, Connecticut. This role is essential in ensuring a supportive and safe environment for our international middle and high school students.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the logistics of student arrivals and departures, ensuring a smooth transition for all residents.
- Prepare dormitory accommodations for incoming students, including room readiness and welcome activities.
- Facilitate necessary appointments for new students, including health checks and vaccination compliance.
- Assist students with practical needs such as obtaining school uniforms and setting up banking services.
- Organize orientation sessions to help students acclimate to dormitory life.
- Coordinate transportation for students to and from school and events, ensuring punctuality and safety.
- Collaborate with educational staff to monitor student progress and address any academic or behavioral concerns.
- Work with health professionals to maintain the well-being of residents, including managing attendance and health appointments.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including health and academic documentation.
- Support students in fulfilling community service requirements and engaging in extracurricular activities.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and school administrators to keep all parties informed.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to the planning of student events and activities.
- Engage with students to foster a positive and inclusive community within the dormitory.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding an advanced degree in Education or a related field. Experience in educational settings, particularly with high school-aged students, is highly desirable.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to student welfare. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Mandarin is mandatory.
