Key Responsibilities of the Housekeeping Role

The Housekeeper is tasked with ensuring cleanliness in all communal areas and resident accommodations. This role requires adherence to established cleaning protocols and a natural affinity for working with seniors, demonstrating genuine concern for their comfort and well-being. The Housekeeper must also be observant, reporting any changes in residents' conditions to management.

Core Duties Include:

  • Adhere to performance standards and execute duties in line with established policies.
  • Dust and clean various surfaces including vents, handrails, ceiling fans, and furniture.
  • Vacuum and perform spot cleaning on carpets and upholstery as needed.
  • Sanitize bathrooms and replenish necessary supplies such as paper towels and soap.
  • Ensure all cleaning chemicals are properly labeled and stored securely, preventing resident access.
  • Collect and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Utilize proper cleaning techniques to maintain infection control.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
  • Participate in educational and training programs as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Address resident concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Exhibit calmness and emotional stability in all situations.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Must be comfortable working with cleaning chemicals.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Engage in resident-centered activities and programs.
  • Contribute to special projects or committees as assigned.
  • Attend all relevant meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with various tasks involving residents as directed.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • A genuine caring attitude towards seniors, with the ability to interact courteously with residents and staff.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or senior living environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screenings is required.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and perform physical tasks effectively.
