We are seeking a highly qualified Affiliate Instructor to teach courses in the School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The successful candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and events, with experience in teaching and curriculum development.
Key Responsibilities- Teach 3+ credit hours in courses such as Wedding Planning, Event Industry, Event Project Management, and Event Support Systems
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and best practices
- Provide instruction and guidance to students in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to improve student outcomes
- Master's degree in Hospitality or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality with significant professional experience
- Experience in teaching and curriculum development, with a focus on hospitality and events
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of students and faculty
- Ability to effectively infuse technology into coursework and provide online or in-person academic support to students
- Nationally recognized certificates and licenses relevant to the field of hospitality and events
- Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to improving access to higher education for underrepresented groups
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program.
