Job Summary

This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO - Office of the General Counsel, Office of Chief Counsel, Foreign Assets Control. As a Paralegal Specialist, you will be advising and assisting attorneys on case management. This opportunity is also open to any US citizen to apply under Announcement 24-DO-1058-P. Responsibilities
  • Act as an internal consultant and provide hands-on support to attorneys in the development, implementation, and support of efficient, processes, case tracking and automation systems, communication and practice support applications.
  • Create, update, and maintain databases in practice support applications, including but not limited to applications such as NUIX Discover, Autonomy, Encase, Symantec Clearwell, or other similar litigation support and e-discovery software tools as required.
  • Conduct and assist with document reviews in the context of litigation, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, oversight requests, and similar projects, including reviews and redactions for responsiveness, privilege, classified or otherwise protected information, and FOIA exemptions, and redactions of classified and other protected information.
Requirements
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • All new hires will be required to comply with federal ethics laws.
  • A review of financial or other interests may be conducted to determine if they create any real or apparent conflict of interests with official Treasury duties.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
Qualifications
  • You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
  • For the GS-13, is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Specialized experience for this position must include all of the following: Managing document reviews, document productions and discovery (including e-lectronic discovery) matters; AND Paralegal experience advising attorneys or other professionals on case management.
  • For the GS-12, is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Specialized experience for this position must include all of the following: Paralegal experience assisting attorneys or other professionals on case management.
