POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for delivering comprehensive engineering solutions that encompass all stages of the construction lifecycle, from initial design to system commissioning. Reporting directly to a Senior Project Manager, this role is integral to the Engineering team at Energy 1, where we are committed to excellence and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Engineering Project Manager will demonstrate strong collaborative skills, guiding the design team, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring effective communication with clients, contractors, and internal staff. Responsibilities include managing project timelines and expectations while coordinating closely with the Senior Project Manager. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of independent work, and adept at prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with a Senior Project Manager to create and present detailed engineering and construction documentation, providing support throughout the construction phase across various project types, including residential, commercial, and institutional.
  • Overseeing project designers and engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budget constraints.
  • Designing and drafting mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, including but not limited to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing layouts.
  • Coordinating MEP systems with architectural designs and other consulting teams.
  • Producing and reviewing comprehensive, code-compliant project documentation for permitting and construction purposes.
  • Conducting design analyses, including calculations and energy code compliance assessments.
  • Managing construction administration tasks such as field inspections, submittal reviews, and project closeouts.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to ensure timely project completion within budget.
  • Assisting the Senior Project Manager in proposal development.
  • Training and evaluating the performance of team members.
  • Drafting and editing project specifications in relevant CSI divisions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and industry standards.
  • Preferred: Professional engineering license.
