Role Overview

We are in search of a dynamic and innovative mechanical research engineer to contribute to our expanding team. In this role, you will be tasked with assessing and advancing cutting-edge sensing technologies for integration into our flagship embedded product. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in solid and fluid mechanics, computer-aided design (CAD), rapid prototyping, and linear control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Developing prototypes for solid-state physical sensing systems aimed at detecting intricate electromechanical phenomena.
  • Establishing data acquisition systems and physical experimentation frameworks.
  • Conducting thorough literature reviews and research on electronic sensing technologies.
  • Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, including data scientists, electrical engineers, and product managers.

Essential Qualifications

The following skills are crucial for this position, and only candidates who meet all of these criteria will progress in the application process:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in prototyping and fabrication, including additive and subtractive manufacturing.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience with CAD and finite element analysis (FEM/FEA).
  • 4+ years of experience in quantitative modeling and analysis using Python.
  • Experience in enclosure and mechanism design, with the ability to specify and assemble fixtures, rigging, and environmental testing setups.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in classical physics.
