About the Role:

Takeda, a leading pharmaceutical company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Biomarker Technology and Science Lead. As a key member of our Bioanalytical and Biomarker Sciences and Technologies (BST) department, you will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of biomarkers for clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of biomarkers for clinical trials, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with study logistics and therapeutic area aligned leaders.
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision for biomarker development and implementation, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic, technical, and regulatory expertise in biomarker development and implementation, with a deep understanding of biomarker technologies and applications.
  • Lead a team of subject matter experts and logistics specialists, ensuring execution of BST deliverables in accordance with study timelines.
  • Represent BST at cross-functional project teams and keep BST leadership informed of progress.
  • Apply fit-for-purpose principles in biomarker development and validation to support decision-making on programs.
  • Provide input into applicable sections of clinical documents, consolidating feedback from SMEs, including study protocols, regulatory documents, and communications.
  • Influence and inspire scientists in the organization, work effectively in a matrix environment, and maintain a culture that encourages innovation, scientific rigor, and growth opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of biomarker development and implementation, with expertise in at least one technology area and 10+ years' experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Outstanding expertise in one or more biomarker technologies, such as immunoassays, genomics, flow cytometry, and others, with a current understanding of scientific advancements.
  • Experience within GI, immunology, neurology, and/or oncology therapeutic areas, and experience supporting novel modalities.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to drive scientific excellence, strategic, tactical, and fiscally responsible operations in support of BST and programmatic goals.
  • Independently manages workload and expectations, with scientific independence and the ability to drive research strategy that impacts the group internally and externally.
  • PhD degree in a scientific discipline with 7+ years' experience, or MS with 13+ years' experience, or BS with 15+ years' experience.
